Are you happy?  And if so, where are you happy?
 
“Happiness begins in the mind,” Says Ms. Tazim Elkington, - writer, poet, speaker, trainer and paradigm shifter. Your outlook on life, as well as your thoughts contribute to how you feel. 
 
Life is like a tunnel.  And the tunnel keeps changing.  In as much as we would like our lives to be perfect, the tunnel is not always straight and life is unpredictable.  We can not control the changing nature of the tunnel but how we deal with it is what matters.  There is no guarantee of success to any project we may undertake, however, having the right attitude enables us to cope with the outcome be it good or bad.
 
Are you waiting for the right moment, the right opportunity or the right person?  As humans, it is in our nature to sit and wait for someone or people to solve the problems in our lives.  The responsibility you take for your life is what really matters.   Self-responsibility begins with you and ends with you.  It can not be related to something or someone else, - it’s all about you. 
 
In connection to this is the realization that one can not make all of the people happy all the time.  Start paying attention to yourself.  It does not matter what others think, what really counts is yourself.
 
Another aspect is competition.  No two people are alike; every individual is different.  And yet, we are in constant competition with one another.  We compete to prove to ourselves and others that we are good enough.  We measure our success by emerging first or best in the race.
 
“There is nobody like you on this planet.  Each individual is different and unique, so why compete?” questions Ms. Elkington.  
 
Lastly, it is also important to know the priorities in your life.  Life is often spent running after so many things that are in the end not important.  Define what is really important; decide what it is you really want to do. 
 
That’s what matters in life.
